I believe this album will remain one of the best things that I (will) ever (have) do(ne). It’s also possibly one of the worst recordings you’ll have heard for a while.
The songs were recorded in my parents’ living room in 2010 with my staple band. The idea was that I had a few songs I wanted to record as raw-ly as possible. So we did everything on the day, no rehearsals, with one mic in the middle of the room. The vocals had to be overdubbed because I couldn’t yell over everything clearly enough, but other than that it’s as it was played on the day.
I’m very proud of how this turned out, but I don’t expect it will be to many people’s taste. It’s my very ugly baby.
